Skiline is one of the leading Ski Holiday search engines and Ski Holidays specialists.
The website uses a microservices architecture to allow different pieces to serve different parts of the website ( and back office systems).
I was brought in to plan out and implement the project ( from a data and software integration perspective ):
- Migrate the CMS Database from Drupal to WordPress , this included a one off custom ETL process ( mapping the SQL from Drupal to convert into WordPress SQL and migrate other pieces such as 150,000 images)
- Rewrite the front end javascript to connect to the Search ( json microservice )
- Integration work between the pricing and availability system and the website, this involved writing a number of feeds that run via unix cron (to the pricing and availability system)
- Setup and configure Unix servers ( Security, Web Server, Database Server)
- Various other parts, speed, extra web functionality
